Rajgad Fort, once the capital of the Maratha Empire under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, stands tall in the Sahyadris as a symbol of pride, power, and history. True to its name, “Rajgad” (The King of Forts), it is one of the most magnificent and strategically important forts in Maharashtra.
The trek to Rajgad takes you through lush forests, steep ascents, and winding trails, leading to massive fortifications, ancient caves, palaces, and water cisterns. From the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of Torna, Sinhagad, Lingana, and Raigad forts – a panoramic sight that connects you to Maharashtra’s glorious past.

Day 1: Pickup
09:00 PM – Swami Narayan Temple, Dadar East
09:15 PM – Sion Circle
09:25 PM – Chedda Nagar
10:50 PM – Vashi Plaza
11:15 PM – Juinagar Highway
11:30 PM – Kalamboli Highway (McDonald's)
Day 2: Trek Day
- 04:00 AM – Arrival at Base Village: Reach the base village early morning, freshen up, and relax for a short while before the trek briefing.
- 05:00 AM – Trek Introduction & Start: Attend a quick safety briefing by the trek leader and begin the ascent towards Rajgad Fort under the early morning sky.
- 06:30 AM – Reach Rajgad Fort Top: Arrive at the fort after a steady climb through scenic forest trails and rocky patches with refreshing valley views.
- Fort Exploration Session: Explore the historic remains including Padmavati Machi, ancient water cisterns, fort walls, and panoramic viewpoints.
- Photography & Leisure Time: Spend quality time capturing beautiful landscapes, group pictures, and enjoying the cool mountain breeze.
- 1:00 PM – Lunch at the Fort: Relish a simple and satisfying vegetarian lunch while sitting amidst the serene Sahyadri surroundings.
- 04:30 PM – Start Return Journey: Begin descending towards the base village and proceed back to Mumbai with unforgettable memories
